Snowy Morning

i woke up on saturday morning and this is what i saw out our window. wow.

i took a walk down the road...

... and looked back saw our house...

and the neighbor's tree laden with snowiness.

i went back home...

...and hugged wally.

the snow mostly melted by the afternoon.

the english staffordshire bull terrier is one heck of a dog. they're extremely smart, obedient and cuddly. i highly recommend getting one if you want an excellent and devoted companion.n and i sure want one of our own someday!

freaky pioneers

now that his back is stronger, n has returned to his beloved night walks. for christmas he got walking poles and yaktrax so he doesn't slip. before that, cho and i would get really stressed out when he INSISTED on trapsing through the neighborhood at night in the snow. you can't stop a housebound, star lovin' man.

here we are at our front door coming home together from a very wintery walk. franco calls us "freaky pioneers." maybe you can see why. here we are again. isn't tubbery handsome in his WWII fighter pilot beanie?

we moved to the breathable, high desert of new mexico in august 2007, from the (sadly) smoggy, shores of our native land--south orange county. everyday the sun slips behind the sandia mountains leaving behind traces of silver and gold and rainbow. now that we're past winter solstice, i get to watch this on my drive home from work at 5. sometimes i call my people and tell them to GET OUTSIDE NOW! this is the view from the "office," a.k.a. n's sleeping room. it's pretty glorious.
